Šimon Fridrich is a Prague-based director and a 2024 graduate in Film Directing from FAMU. He has been making films since the age of fifteen, long before filmmaking became a profession. Born to two actors, he grew up around theatre stages and film sets, surrounded by people who spent their lives telling stories. Acting was his first way into that world, and it eventually led him to where he feels most at home, behind the camera.

His work spans commercials, short films and branded content, including several festival-winning shorts. What connects much of his work is a focus on performance, and on helping people feel natural in front of the camera. Whether it is a commercial or a short film, he tries to keep the work precise without making it feel forced.

Alongside traditional filmmaking, Šimon also directs masterclasses and on-camera interviews with executives, founders and business leaders. A big part of that work is creating trust. He helps people who are not used to being filmed speak with ease and confidence, so the final result feels natural rather than performed.
